Lancelot Thomas Hogben (fødd 9. desember 1895 i Portsmouth, død 22. august 1975) var ein britisk zoolog og statistikar, kjent for synet sitt på arvelæra. I Noreg er han mest kjend for dei populære bokframstillingane av matematikk og vitskap.[1]

Han oppnådde ei grad i fysiologi ved Trinity College i Cambridge i 1915 der han òg frekventerte Fabian Society. Han gjekk frå metodisme til humanisme og virkte som pasifist under den første verdskrigen, og dessutan jobba han for Raude Krossen i Frankrike. Såfølgde opphald ved Birkbeck i University of London i 1917, Imperial College London 1918-1922, Edinburgh University 1922-1925 og McGill University 1925-1927, før han vart professor i zoologi ved universitetet i Cape Town, der studia hans av ein froskemodell (Xenopus laevis) vekte ry. Hogben leia social biology ved London School of Economics 1930-1937 og skulda eugenikk-rørsla. Deretter var han professor i naturhistorie ved University of Aberdeen frå 1937. Den 9. april 1940 skulle han halde foredrag ved Norsk Forening for Arvelighetsforskning eit foredrag om «Methods of human genetics». Under den andre verdskrigen jobba Hogben som statistikar for hæren.

I tida 1941-1961 var han professor ved University of Birmingham der han i 1943 laga språket Interglossa, og utvikla andre interesser. I 1952 kunne norske aviser melde at han ville lære Marsbuarar å spele sjakk, fordi «inter-planetariske sjakk-turneringar ville kunne virke som avleiing for dei krigerske tendensane i menneskenaturen her på jorda».[2] Den siste stillinga hans var viserektor ved universitetet i Guyana 1963-1964.
