Mount Howell
Mount Howell er eit fjell 3 nautiske mil sør-sørvest for Mount Borgeson i Walker Mountains på Thurston Island i Antarktis. Det vart namngjeve av Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names etter kapteinløytnant John D. Howell, ein pilot og flykaptein i austgruppa under U.S. Navy Operasjon Highjump, som tok flyfoto av dette fjellet og kystområda rundt Thurston Island i 1946–47. Offiser Howell landa eit sjøfly i ope farvatn aust i Glacier Bight den 11. januar 1947 for å redde seks overlevande som den 30. desember styrta på Noville Peninsula.[1]
