Bates Island
Bates Island er ei smal øy som er nær 3 nautiske mil lang og som ligg 3 nautiske mil aust for Jurva Point på Renaud Island i Biscoe Islands. Ho vart først kartlagd nøyaktig av argentinske styresmakter i 1957, og vart namngjeven av UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee i 1959 etter Charles C. Bates, ein amerikanske oseanograf som har spesialisert seg på havisstudiar.[1]
