Chris Laurence

Chris Laurence (fødd 6. januar 1949) er ein engelsk musikar, som hovudsakleg har arbeidd innan jazz og klassisk musikk. Som klassisk musikar har han spelt kontrabass med Academy of St Martin in the Fields fram til 1995, og spelte på mange av innspelingane deira frå filmen Amadeus til Benjamin Britten sin Curlew River. Han har òg spelt med mange jazzartistar, som trombonisten J.J. Johnson, Tony Coe, Joe Williams, Sarah Vaughan, Clark Terry, Johnny Mathis og Lena Horne. Han har òg spelt inn musikk for fjernsyn, film og album, som Leaving Las Vegas (1995), Looking for Eric (2009), The Constant Gardener (2005), Howard Shore sin musikk for Hugo (2011), og mest nyleg Mr. Turner (2014). I tillegg til jazz- og klassisk musikk har Laurence spelt med musikarar som Elton John, Sting, Peter Gabriel, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Joni Mitchell, David Gilmour, Michel Legrand og gitaristen John Williams.
