David Paton
David Paton (fødd 29. oktober 1949)[1] er ein skotsk bassist, gitarist og songar.

Det første bandet hans heitte The Beachcombers og dei fekk platekontrakt i 1968 med CBS Records. Dei endra namn til The Boots og gav ut nokre singlar.[2] I 1970 erstatta han ein gitarist i Bay City Rollers, men spelte ikkje inn noko med dei før han vart medlem av bandet Fresh, som endra namn til Chrystian og gav ut ein singel i 1971.[3] I 1973 var Paton med å skipe Pilot, som gav ut debutalbumet sitt i 1974.[4] I 1976 byrja han å samarbeide med produsenten Alan Parsons og gav ut det første albumet under namnet Alan Parsons Project, Tales of Mystery & Imagination. Paton spelte bass og song med bandet fram til albumet Stereotomy i 1986. Han spelte òg som studiomusikar, mellom anna på dei to førte albuma med Kate Bush i 1978, The Kick Inside og Lionheart.
I 1980-åra samarbeidde han med Camel og Elton John, og fleire album med Fish, Rick Wakeman og Keats.[5]
Sidan 1991 har han gjeve ut fleire soloalbum.
