Syndfloda
Syndfloda er ein storflaum som er omtalt i Første Mosebok i Bibelen. I forteljinga utslettar Gud alt livet på jorda gjennom ein flaum, bortsett frå menneska og dyra som blir redda i Noahs ark.[1] Etter flaumen sluttar Gud og Noah regnbogepakta, som seier at det aldri skal koma ein liknande flaum.[2]
Den bibelske syndfloda er ei av mange myter om store flaumar eller syndfloder. I dag blir forteljinga som regel tolka som ein allegori, men det har også vore dei som har teke henne bokstaveleg, og ein har til dømes prøvd å finna arkeologiske leivningar etter flaumen.[3][4][5][6]
