Tribute to the American Duck er det sjuande albumet til bluegrassgruppa The Dillards. Det kom ut eit år etter Roots and Branches med same besetning og ein liknande stil. Billy Ray Latham spelte elektrisk gitar på «Caney Creek», som har ein tydleg folkrockstil. Songen «Dooley» var ei nyinnspeling for albumet, som dei opphavleg gav ut på debutplata Back Porch Bluegrass.
Mitch Jayne tok igjen ei rolle i bakgrunnen på dette albumet, og rolla hans som bassist vart overleten til to andre bassistar. Han skreiv derimot fleire songar enn han hadde gjort på Roots and Branches, og song for første gongen solovokal på ein song, avslutningssporet «What's Time to a Hog?» Kona til Rodney Dillard, Linda Dillard, song for første gongen korvokal på eit The Dillards-album og var medlåtskrivar på «Carry Me Off» i lag med Rodney og Jayne.
