«Birth of Rock and Roll» er ein song frå 1986 skriven av Carl Perkins og Greg Perkins. Songen var med på albumet Class of '55 som inneheld framføringar av Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison og Jerry Lee Lewis.[1] «Birth of Rock and Roll» vart gjeven ut som singel og var produsert av Chips Moman. Singelen nådde 31. plassen på countrylista i USA og 44. plassen på countrylista i Canada. B-sida var «Rock and Roll (Fais-Do-Do)» med Jerry Lee Lewis og Roy Orbison.[2] Temaet i songen «Birth of Rock and Roll» er korleis «Memphis var opphavet til rock and roll» i 1950-åra ved Sun Records.[3] Det vart laga ein video av songen med Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis og Ronnie Wood frå The Rolling Stones som køyrer til det historiske studioet i Memphis i Tennessee i ein kvit Cadillac.
