Bernard Purdie
Bernard Lee «Pretty» Purdie (fødd 11. juni 1939) er ein USA-amerikansk trommeslagar, og ein viktig R&B-, soul- og funkmusikar.[1] Han er kjend for å halde tempoet og takten særs presist og ein signaturstil der han nyttar triolar mot ein halvtids etterslag: «Purdie Shuffle.»[2] Han vart innlemma i Modern Drummer Hall of Fame i 2013.[3]

Purdie spelte inn Soul Drums (1968) som bandleiar og sjølv om han så spelte inn Alexander's Ragtime Band, kom ikkje dette albumet ut før Soul Drums kom ut på CD i 2009 med Alexander's Ragtime Band som bonus. Andre soloalbum var Purdie Good! (1971), Soul Is... Pretty Purdie (1972) og musikken til blaxploitation-filmen Lialeh (1973).
I midten av 1990-åra var han medlem av The 3B's, i lag med Bross Townsend og Bob Cunningham.
