Dickey Betts
Forrest Richard Betts (12. desember 1943–18. april 2024) kjend som Dickey Betts, var ein USA-amerikansk gitarist, songar, låtskriva og komponist, mest kjend som opphavleg medlem i The Allman Brothers Band.

Han vart med bandet innlemma i Rock and Roll Hall of Fame i 1995[1] og vann ein Grammy fo besste rockefamføring med bandet for instrumentale hans «Jessica» in 1996.[2] Betts vert rekna som ein av dei beste gitaristane gjennom tidene,[3] og danna i lag med Duane Allman ein av rockens beste gitarduoar,[4] og introdusere melodiske, doble gitarharmoniar og kontrapunkt som «omgjorde reglane for korleis to rockegitaristar kan arbeide i lag, og fullstendig skrota dei tradisjonelle rollene med ein rytmegitarist og ein sologitarist, og stod i staden tå mot tå».[5]
Betts vart rangert på 58. plassen på Rolling Stone si liste over dei 100 beste gitaristane gjennom tidene i 2003, og på 61. plassen på tilsvarande liste i 2011.[3][6]
