Welcome to the Blackout (Live London '78) er eit konsertalbum av den engelske musikaren David Bowie, spelt inn på Isolar II-turneen. Han kom ut i eit avgrensa opplag på vinyl den 21. april 2018 for Record Store Day.[1][2] Kort tid etter kom albumet ut på CD den 29. juni 2018, i lag med digitale utgjevinga for nedlasting og strøyming.[3]

Innspeling endre

Albumet vart spelt inn under Isolar II-turneen i Earls Court i London den 30. juni og 1. juli 1978 av Tony Visconti med eit mobilt opptaksutstyr av RCA. Opptaka vart miksa av Bowie og David Richards i Mountain Studios i Montreux, frå 17. til 22. januar 1979.

Konsertopptak av frå 1. juli av «Be My Wife» og «Sound and Vision» vart tidlegare gjeven ut på det halvoffisielle Mainman-albumet Rarestonebowie i 1995.

Konsertane vart filma av regissøren David Hemmings for ein konsertfilm seinare i 1978. Bowie var ikkje nøgd med filmen, som aldri kom ut, og sa i 2000, «Eg likte rett og slett ikkje måten det var filma på».[4]
