Songs from the West Coast er det 27. studioalbumet av den britiske songaren Elton John og kom ut 1. oktober 2001. Mange kritikarar meinte at John med dette albumet gjekk attende til dei pianobaserte røtene sine. Han samarbeidde igjen med ein av dei faste tekstforfattarane sine, Bernie Taupin. Trommeslagar Nigel Olsson var òg attende i bandet. Ingen av singlane frå albumet gjekk inn på Billboard Hot 100 i USA, som gjorde at 2001 vart det første året for John på 31 år utan ein song på Billboard Hot 100 (30 med minst ein song inne på Topp 40). George Strait tangerte denne rekorden på countrylista i 2011.

Stevie Wonder, som tidlegare hadde arbeidd med Elton John på songane «I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues» og «That's What Friends Are For», spelte munnspel og clavinet på «Dark Diamond».Patrick Leonard produserte albumet og spelte òg klaverinstrument på fleire songar. Rufus Wainwright syng korvokal på songen «American Triangle», som handlar om Matthew Shepard, ein homofil student som vart brutalt drepen i 1998.

Songs from the West Coast fekk god kritikk av kritikarane. Stephen Thomas Erlewine i Allmusic meinte at John hadde laga eit album som høyrdest ut som dei klassiske albuma hans frå byrjinga av 1970-åra.[1]
