John Mayall
John Mayall (fødd 29. november 1933) er ein engelsk bluessongar, gitarist, organist og låtskrivar, med ein musikalsk karriere som har strekt seg over femti år. I 1960-åra skipa han John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, eit band som fungerte som skule for dei leiande bluesrockmusikarane i Storbritannia på den tida. Blant medlemmane i bandet hans finn ein Eric Clapton, Peter Green, Jack Bruce, John McVie, Mick Fleetwood, Mick Taylor, Don «Sugarcane» Harris, Harvey Mandel, Larry Taylor, Aynsley Dunbar, Hughie Flint, Jon Hiseman, Dick Heckstall-Smith, Andy Fraser, Johnny Almond, Walter Trout, Coco Montoya, Kal David og Buddy Whittington. Mayall har slik sett vore meir kjend som bandleiar og mentor enn artist på eiga hand.

Musikarane i bandet hans har ofte sett han sjølv i skuggen. Mayall er songar og spelar mange instrument og var dugande til å hente ut det beste i yngre musikarar.[1] Mayall var sjølv i 30-åra då Bluesbreakers byrja å skape eit namn for seg sjølv. Mayall skreiv det meste av materialet sitt sjølv og eksperimenterte med forskjellige bluesformat.
