Doug Sax
Doug Sax (26. april 1936–2. april 2015) var ein USA-amerikansk masteringteknikar frå Los Angeles. Han lage lydmastrane til tre av The Doors sine album, inkludert debutplata frå 1967, seks av Pink Floyd sine album, inkludert The Wall; Ray Charles-albumet Genius Loves Company i 2004 og Bob Dylan sitt Shadows in the Night i 2015.

I lag med Lincoln Mayorga og broren Sherwood (Bert), skipa Sax The Mastering Lab i 1967.[1]
The Mastering Lab brukte utstyr laga av Sherwood, med handlaga elektronikk, frå lydbandmaskinar til equalizer, kompressorar, avgrensarar, omformarar og monitorar.[2] Dette kombinert med øyra og ekspertisen til Sax var med å skape ein lang og suksessrik karriere for The Mastering Lab.[3] I 1970 skipa Sax og Mayorga Sheffield Lab Recordings, eit audiofil-selskap som produserte album med klassisk musikk og jazz.[4][5]
Innan 1972 gjorde Sax mastering på 20 % av singlane som låg inne på topp 100 på Billboard-lista. I 1971 mastra Sax album som The Who sitt Who's Next, Harry Nilsson sitt Nilsson Schmilsson, The Rolling Stones sitt Sticky Fingers og debutalbumet til Eagles.
